Bang For Your Buck

Rugged, ultra-light, roomy and easy to use, the Alpinismo 4 Season Tent is by far the best tent that you can buy for under $200. In addition to being extremely light, it folds into a tight, compact size making this tent perfectly suited for serious trekkers.

There is no doubt about it, the Alpinismo 4 Season gives you the most bang for your buck. It is important to note; however, that while it is advertised as a 4 season tent, it is really more like a 3.75 season tent. I have read that it can get a bit chilly once the temperature reaches around 0 ˚ Farenheit and that the structure of the tent can withstand light loads snow but it isn’t quite robust enough to manage under a heavy blizzard. That having been said, it is still a fantastic product. As long as you aren’t camping in the arctic or atop a Himalayan mountain, you should be just fine.

Features

The Alpsinismo 4 Season is a very well designed tent. The tent materials are made of a strong lightweight polyester and the rain cover is 1000 mm and does an outstanding job of keeping 2 people and their gear dry and protected. The floor is made of a revolutionary new material that is both lightweight and strong. In addition, the floor is protected by a 2000 mm hydrostatic layer with waterproof seams. This tent performs very well under even the most windy of conditions with the anchor points of the side walls keeping the tent firmly planted on the ground.

With interior dimensions of 86 inches x 61 inches and a height of 45 inches, there is plenty of room for two people and their gear. In addition, this tent boasts two roomy vestibules for cooking and storage as well as a mesh hanger perfect for hanging a light at night.

The Alpinismo 4 Season has two entrances, which makes things very convenient for two campers and great when a little ventilation is required.

Pitching and Packing

It is readily apparent that this tent was designed with the “backpacker on the go” in mind. Thanks to the structure’s shock corded lightweight aluminum poles, this tent can be pitched in well under 3 minutes. Packing the Alpinismo Season 4 takes no time and it, along with all of the poles and accessories, fits quite easily into the storage bag.

Conclusion

The Alpinismo Season 4 is a phenomenal “semi-severe” weather tent that will keep you warm in the winter and cool and well-ventilated in the summer. At under 7 pounds and under $200, you can’t go wrong.

  • Incredibly light
  • Durable
  • Easy to pitch and pack
  • Extremely affordable
  • Not appropriate for sub-zero temperatures
